🔍What is Erasmus OPEP-DV?
The Opep-DV project (Online Professional Education for Physiotherapists and other Healthcare Professionals on Domestic Violence) aims to equip physiotherapists and healthcare professionals with the skills to identify and assist victims of domestic violence. Its key objectives include developing a stand-alone training course and an online educational module for both current and future practitioners, particularly those regularly working with female patients.
The project is supported by an international partnership involving the University of Tartu (Estonia), the Women’s Support and Information Centre (Estonia)

, the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (Cyprus), M&M Profuture Training, S.L. (Spain), and Tartu Health Care College (Estonia). Key outcomes include a comprehensive report on physiotherapy and domestic violence, a professional training program, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), and policy recommendations to enhance physiotherapy education in this area.
The Opep_DV workshop included practical activities, a panel discussion with experts, and a presentation of the OPEP-DV results, aimed at educating physiotherapists on this critical topic. Featuring contributions from experts, students, and educators from Tecnocampus – Degree of Physiotherapy, the event underscored the vital role of professional commitment in addressing gender-based violence and equipping healthcare providers with essential tools.
