Erasmus+ AI Training for Teachers in Barcelona: From Theory to Classroom Practice
Artificial intelligence is transforming education, offering teachers new opportunities to design engaging lessons, personalise learning and develop innovative teaching practices. At M&M Profuture Training, we believe that educators should have the confidence and practical skills to make responsible use of these technologies in their classrooms.
As part of an Erasmus+ KA1 mobility project, M&M Profuture Training organised and delivered the course “Improving Teaching Skills to Use Artificial Intelligence at Their Lessons” in Barcelona for teachers from the Professional High School of Mechanoelectrical Engineering “Gen. Ivan Bachvarov”, Bulgaria.
The training formed part of Erasmus+ project 2024-1-BG01-KA121-VET-000196536.
Exploring Artificial Intelligence in Education
The course was designed to introduce teachers to the practical applications of artificial intelligence in education, combining accessible explanations with interactive activities and hands-on learning.
Participants explored how AI can support everyday teaching tasks, from preparing educational resources to designing engaging classroom activities.
The training focused on developing practical digital competences and encouraging educators to reflect on the opportunities and challenges of using AI in their professional practice.
Practical Workshops: AI Tools, Prompts and Lesson Planning
One of the main objectives was to help teachers move beyond theoretical knowledge and experiment with AI tools they could apply in their own classrooms.
Throughout the training, participants worked on several key areas:
- AI tools for teachers: exploring applications such as ChatGPT and Cancan Magic to support educational content creation and lesson preparation.
- Effective prompting: learning how to formulate clear instructions and evaluate AI-generated responses.
- AI-supported lesson planning: developing and adapting teaching activities with the support of artificial intelligence.
- Personalised learning: considering how AI can help educators respond to different learning needs.
- Assessment and feedback: exploring ways to support student engagement, evaluation and feedback.
The practical methodology encouraged active participation, collaboration and the exchange of experiences among educators.

Responsible and Ethical Use of AI in the Classroom
Artificial intelligence also raises important questions about privacy, bias, transparency and digital responsibility.
The course addressed these challenges through discussions and practical examples, helping teachers reflect on how to introduce AI into educational environments responsibly.
Participants explored European approaches to trustworthy AI and considered the teacher’s essential role in guiding students towards safe, critical and meaningful use of digital technologies.
Turning New Skills into Classroom Activities
A central component of the training was the development of AI-supported lesson plans.
Teachers had the opportunity to apply the concepts explored during the workshops, develop educational activities and exchange feedback with their peers.
This learning-by-doing approach reflects M&M Profuture Training’s commitment to practical, participatory and professionally relevant Erasmus+ training experiences.
