EDSAW Methodological Training Held in Brno to Support Digital Skills for the Ageing Workforce
From 8 to 10 April 2026, partners of the Erasmus+ project EDSAW – Empowering Digital Skills for the Ageing Workforce gathered in Brno for an international methodological training focused on the development of innovative learning approaches for adults aged 50+.
The training was organised and delivered by M&M Profuture Training within the framework of Work Package 5, dedicated to the validation of the development of the “Methodology for Building Local Learning Centres and Innovative Learning Spaces for the 50+ Population”.
Hosted by Mendel University, the three-day event brought together project partners, educators, researchers and stakeholders from different European countries to exchange experiences, validate methodological approaches and explore practical strategies to improve digital inclusion and employability among older adults.
During the training sessions, participants worked on:
- Local Learning Centres (LLCs) and Innovative Learning Spaces (ILSys),
- adult-centred pedagogical methodologies,
- digital inclusion strategies for the ageing workforce,
- flexible and blended learning models,
- monitoring and evaluation frameworks,
- sustainability and scalability of learning centres,
- stakeholder engagement and community-based learning approaches.
Special attention was given to the needs of adults aged 50+, focusing on accessible, supportive and confidence-building learning environments.
One of the key objectives of the event was to ensure that the EDSAW methodology can be realistically implemented by adult education providers, local authorities, NGOs and organisations working with older learners across Europe.
The meeting in Brno represented an important milestone in the project, strengthening cooperation between partners and contributing to the creation of sustainable educational models that support lifelong learning, digital competences and active ageing.
The EDSAW project continues working towards the empowerment of adults aged 50+ through innovative educational methodologies, inclusive digital training and the promotion of accessible learning opportunities adapted to the realities of the modern labour market.
