Future-STEM Hub Holds Its Final Meeting and Conference in Essen

The international Future-STEM Hub consortium gathered in Essen, Germany, for the project’s final meeting and closing conference. The event provided an opportunity to share the project’s main achievements and reflect on the future of STEM education in a context increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

The final conference, entitled “Exploring the AI-Driven Future”, took place on 15 July 2026 at the Glaspavillon of the University of Duisburg-Essen. It was one of the project’s main dissemination and exploitation activities.

Artificial Intelligence and STEM Education

The event brought together secondary school teachers, school leaders, institutional representatives, university staff, families and other stakeholders interested in educational innovation.

Throughout the conference, the partner organisations presented the resources, methodologies and experiences developed during the project. The programme combined presentations with interactive workshops, encouraging active participation and the exchange of knowledge and experiences among attendees.

The main topics addressed included:

The responsible integration of artificial intelligence into STEM education.
The design of activities and lesson plans supported by AI tools.
The opportunities and ethical challenges associated with these technologies.
The development of digital competences among teachers and students.
The creation of more practical, inclusive and innovative learning experiences.

M&M Profuture Training’s Contribution

During the conference, M&M Profuture Training presented its contribution, “Showcase: AI-Enhanced STEM Lesson Planning – Supporting Teachers through Future-STEM Hub”. The presentation focused on AI-enhanced STEM lesson planning and on how the resources created within the project can support teachers.

The session provided an opportunity to present practical examples and share some of the experiences gained during the development and implementation of the project’s training materials. M&M also participated in the practical activities, allowing attendees to explore the resources and consider how they could be used in the classroom.

Final Consortium Meeting

The partners’ final meeting provided an opportunity to review the work completed, evaluate the results achieved and coordinate the remaining dissemination, exploitation and project closure activities.

The meeting in Essen marked the conclusion of a period of European cooperation dedicated to making artificial intelligence in STEM education more accessible, practical, ethical and inclusive.

The materials and results developed through Future-STEM Hub will remain available to teachers, schools and other organisations interested in promoting innovative teaching methods and preparing students for emerging technological challenges.
