Between 17 and 21 November, the Muralhas do Minho School Cluster welcomed teachers from Greece, Türkiye, and Spain, represented by M&M Profuture Training, S.L. The Spanish delegation included educators from Institut Escola La Mina, La Llotja – School of Art and Design, and Institut FP Sant Cugat, accompanied by staff members from M&M Profuture Training. In total, 15 participants took part in this Erasmus+ mobility.

The programme organised by the Portuguese team reflected the project’s theme: “Harmonizing social transformations: mitigating the negative effects of social media through art.”

The mobility opened with a warm welcome ceremony and an exchange of symbolic gifts among delegations. Participants watched a video prepared by the Portuguese hosts, offering an overview of Portuguese culture, architecture, and the school’s learning environment. Each partner delegation—including the Spanish group led by M&M Profuture Training—also presented daily life and artistic practices in their institutions. The session concluded with a traditional coffee break featuring the beloved Pastel de Nata.

A visit to the historical fortress of Valença introduced participants to the region’s street art. They explored the Municipal Graphic Design Studio during the workshop “To Have Inspiration and Design”, led by technician Nuno Alves, where they experimented with modern graphic technologies and created their own artistic pieces. The visit ended with a guided tour of the city walls conducted by Dr. Isilda Salvador.

On the second day, the group travelled to Monção. At Deu-la-Deu Martins Basic School, they observed various mural paintings produced within relaxation therapy classes for students facing emotional or psychological challenges.
This was followed by the workshop “Basic Concepts of Painting”, where participants were introduced to watercolor techniques and collaborated on a group mural.

Later, in Monção’s centre, the workshop “Art-based Show Cooking”, led by Mrs. Natália, allowed participants to creatively reinterpret traditional local crafts into edible decorative creations.

The programme continued with a visit to the Alvarinho Wine Cooperative, where they learned about this grape variety unique to the region. A short city tour included a tasting session at Casa do Curro, pairing Alvarinho wine with roscas, a traditional sweet from Monção.
As Monção borders Spain, the day ended with a relaxing visit to the thermal baths in Salvaterra.

The third day was dedicated to exploring Porto, Portugal’s second largest city. Participants visited some of its most iconic landmarks: the Church of São Francisco (a Baroque/Rococo masterpiece), Rua das Flores, the tiled São Bento Railway Station, Rua de Santa Catarina, the renovated Bolhão Market, Café Majestic, Avenida dos Aliados, and the City Hall.
In Vila Nova de Gaia, they enjoyed the traditional Pastel de Bacalhau paired with a glass of Port wine, followed by a scenic boat tour along the Douro River, passing under its six emblematic bridges.

Returning to Valença, the mobility concluded with a farewell dinner showcasing traditional northern Portuguese cuisine, followed by the official certificate ceremony for all participants.

This mobility marks another valuable step in the Erasmus+ project, fostering artistic exploration, cultural exchange, and meaningful collaboration among all partner institutions.
