M&M Profuture Training Highlights Lifelong Learning and Local Learning Centres at the EDSAW Final Conference in Bratislava

M&M Profuture Training, S.L. played a leading role during the final conference of the Erasmus+ project EDSAW – Enhancing Digital and Soft Skills for Ageing Workforce, held in Bratislava.

As leader of Work Package 5 (WP5), dedicated to the development of the Methodology for Building Local Learning Centres (LLCs) and Innovative Learning Spaces (ILS), M&M actively contributed to several key sessions of the conference, sharing both research findings and practical solutions designed to support adults aged 50+ in their lifelong learning journeys.

One of the highlights of the event was the participation of Mónica Moreno, who joined the international expert panel entitled:

“From Digital Skills to Policy Impact – Lessons from ODDEA, EDSAW, STICS and SEMEQ”

During her presentation, “Why Lifelong Learning Still Fails the 50+”, she explored the persistent barriers that continue to limit participation in lifelong learning among older adults. Her contribution emphasised that the challenge is not a lack of motivation, but rather the existence of structural barriers, limited accessibility, low digital confidence and learning opportunities that are often insufficiently adapted to the realities of adults aged 50+.

Mónica Moreno also moderated the EDSAW Track Session, facilitating discussions among researchers and experts on topics such as digital inclusion, hybrid learning environments, workplace digital divides, educational architecture and strategies to strengthen digital and soft skills among the ageing workforce.

At the same conference, Levent Hesap presented the session:

“Building Sustainable Local Learning Centres for the Ageing Workforce”

The presentation focused on the methodology developed within WP5 and demonstrated how Local Learning Centres can become sustainable community-based learning hubs that promote digital inclusion, employability, active ageing and lifelong learning. The session also presented practical implementation pathways, governance models, sustainability mechanisms and strategies for transferring the methodology to different European contexts.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the final methodology guide developed by the consortium. This comprehensive publication offers practical frameworks, implementation tools, monitoring instruments, stakeholder engagement templates and recommendations for organisations interested in creating inclusive learning environments for adults aged 50+.

Through its leadership of Work Package 5, M&M Profuture Training has contributed significantly to the development of sustainable learning models that support digital inclusion, employability and lifelong learning across Europe. The final conference in Bratislava provided an opportunity to share these achievements, exchange experiences with international experts and explore future collaborations that will continue strengthening adult education and active ageing policies beyond the project’s lifetime.
