M&M Profuture Training Leads the Development of DigiLAB Chapters 5 and 6

M&M Profuture Training, S.L. is proud to announce the successful completion of Chapters 5 and 6 of the educational manual and accompanying video materials developed within the Erasmus+ project «Together We Play: Volunteer Initiative» (DigiLAB).

As a partner in this European initiative, M&M Profuture Training has taken the lead in creating educational content focused on two essential aspects of inclusion through sport: the role of families and communities, and the psychological development of athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Strengthening Inclusion Through Family and Community Support

Chapter 5, entitled «The Support Role of Families and Communities», explores the crucial contribution that families, friends and local communities make in encouraging young people with intellectual disabilities to participate in sport and recreational activities.

The chapter highlights how emotional support, positive communication, motivation and shared experiences can significantly increase participation and strengthen a sense of belonging. Through practical examples and accessible learning materials, participants gain a deeper understanding of how supportive environments contribute to successful inclusion.

The accompanying educational videos further illustrate how families and communities can become active partners in creating inclusive sporting opportunities for everyone.

Understanding the Psychological Benefits of Sport

Chapter 6, «Psychological Characteristics and Sports Programs», focuses on the personal and psychological development that sport can foster among individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The materials examine important characteristics such as:

  • Motivation
  • Self-confidence
  • Resilience
  • Adaptability
  • Social interaction skills
  • Emotional wellbeing

The chapter provides practical guidance for coaches, educators, youth workers and volunteers, helping them create supportive and empowering sporting environments where every participant can develop their full potential.

By understanding these psychological dimensions, professionals and volunteers can better support athletes in overcoming barriers and achieving personal growth through sport.

Promoting Inclusion Beyond Participation

Together, Chapters 5 and 6 reinforce one of the central messages of the DigiLAB project: inclusion is about much more than access to activities. True inclusion requires understanding, encouragement, collaboration and ongoing support from families, communities, educators and volunteers.

The resources developed by M&M Profuture Training aim to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and tools needed to foster meaningful participation and create lasting positive impacts on the lives of young people with intellectual disabilities.
