WANTOFISH Management Meeting in Barcelona (20–21 January 2026)
On 20 and 21 January 2026, the WANTOFISH project consortium met in Barcelona for a two-day management meeting hosted by M&M Profuture Training. The meeting brought together all project partners to review progress, coordinate upcoming activities and align on the next implementation phases of the project.
The meeting focused on the development and validation of training modules and quizzes, as well as on quality assurance procedures to ensure consistency and academic rigour across all project outputs. Partners discussed timelines, responsibilities and validation steps, reinforcing a shared understanding of deliverables and milestones.
A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the Moodle learning platform, which will host the WANTOFISH online training course. Partners reviewed the platform structure, multilingual setup and testing process, and discussed how the digital environment will support self-paced learning for students, professionals and educators in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
In addition, the consortium addressed dissemination and communication activities, including the use of infographics, best practices and project results to maximise impact and visibility. Updates on the project website and social media channels were also shared, ensuring a coordinated communication strategy across partners.
The meeting concluded with a professional visit to the Fish Market of Arenys de Mar, offering participants the opportunity to connect project objectives with real-life practices in the fisheries value chain and to reflect on water use and sustainability challenges in a practical context.
Overall, the Barcelona meeting strengthened collaboration among partners and confirmed the consortium’s shared commitment to promoting sustainable water use in Mediterranean fisheries and aquaculture through high-quality training, digital tools and applied knowledge.
